Fibrefolk workshops for adults are a lovely way to connect and chat in a low-key way. There is something quietly powerful in making things with your hands alongside other people.
As well as acquiring a new skill and producing something lovely, the tactile quality of working with textiles is great for settling the mind.
All materials will be provided, but feel free to bring in your own if there's something in particular you want to work with.
Includes a glass of wine or herbal tea and light refreshments. Max 6 per session. £30–40 per workshop.
What is Fibrefolk?
I believe that making art with fabric and yarn can be joyful, creative and therapeutic for everyone. I'm passionate about the benefits of open-ended creativity for both children and adults.
Fibrefolk is a supportive, comfortable space in which guests can express themselves and work at their own pace while learning a textile craft technique that can be used at home to keep the crafting going!
Based in a peaceful self-contained studio on the top floor of a domestic house, all abilities are welcome in a friendly, low-pressure, neuro-inclusive space.

About me
Hello, I'm Laura. I'm a lover of all things textile-based and enjoy making fibre art, especially weaving and embroidery (check out some of my work below).
I am fully insured and DBS checked. I am also a member of the Out of School Alliance, a membership organisation for after-school clubs.
Please note that the studio in Sydenham is on the top floor of my house, up two flights of stairs. The studio is self-contained and children will remain there for the duration of the session. The house is also home to my partner, two young children, two cats and two guinea pigs.
